Popular podcast host Joe Rogan, who has been dismissive of the COVID-19 vaccine, has tested positive for the coronavirus.
In an Instagram video Wednesday, Rogan said he started feeling sick on Saturday, a day after returning from a series of shows in Florida, which has seen a huge spike in COVID-19 cases recently.
“Throughout the night I got fevers, sweats, and I knew what was going on,” Rogan said in the video. He said he isolated himself in his house, away from the rest of his family.
Rogan said he “threw the kitchen sink at it, all kinds of meds,” including “Monoclonal antibodies, ivermectin, Z-Pak, prednisone, everything. I also got an NAD drip and a vitamin drip and I did that three days in a row. Here we are on Wednesday, and I feel great.”
Ivermectin is a medication for horse deworming and it not recommended for human use. The Food and Drug Administration has warned of its toxicity, warning that the drug is “dangerous and can cause serious harm.”
Rogan, a self-described “f–ing moron,” admitted in April that he’s not qualified to give medical advice, following a backlash after he suggested young, healthy people don’t need to get vaccinated. “I’m not a respected source of information — even for me,” he said at the time.
“The Joe Rogan Experience” is one of Spotify’s
most popular podcasts, and has been criticized for spreading misinformation and conspiracy theories on numerous occasions.
